The Druid in WoW: Forever is still the class that can tank, heal, and deal melee or spell damage. What changes most is how shapeshifting feels: you can drink potions, use racial abilities and benefit from weapon enchants without leaving form. Each tree also gains a signature ability, several of them inspired by Wrath of the Lich King. This page summarizes Blizzard’s official class deep dive.

Skyborne of both factions can be Druids and get Druid forms made specifically for the race. Blizzard has said Standard Definition (SD) versions of Skyborne characters and their Druid forms are in development for early 2027.

Skyborne Druid forms from Blizzard’s Skyborne preview.
Shapeshifting changes
- Potions and almost all similar consumables can be used in form without cancelling it. Rage potions and Thistle Tea also work for Druids. Most Engineering bombs still cannot be used, except some new recipes.
- Weapon enchantments and procs work in form, including weightstones, Crusader and Windfury Totem.
- In Bear, Cat and Dire Bear Form, your auto-attack damage per second equals your equipped weapon’s DPS, with attack speed fixed at 1.0 or 2.5 seconds depending on the form.
- Most doors and objects can be used without leaving form.
- Racial abilities work in form, including Shadowmeld, War Stomp and Walk on Air.
- Tiger’s Fury is removed and replaced by the Feral talent Shifting Power.
Baseline changes every Druid gets
- Nature’s Grasp is baseline at level 10 and works in form and indoors.
- Omen of Clarity is baseline at level 20; its Clearcasting is never used up by Wrath.
- Revive (new, level 12): an out-of-combat resurrection.
- Lacerate (new, level 42): a stacking bleed for bears (up to 5 stacks) with high threat.
- Faerie Fire can be cast in Bear, Cat or Dire Bear Form for free, with a 6-second cooldown.
- Frenzied Regeneration can heal for up to 100% of maximum health, given enough Rage. Enrage gives 10 Rage up front. Growl matches the Warrior Taunt cooldown.
- Claw and Shred deal much more damage; Rake, Swipe and Thorns scale better.
- Wrath costs much less mana and deals less damage. Hurricane has no cooldown. Entangling Roots works indoors. Regrowth is much cheaper. Barkskin works in form.
Talent structure
Talents start at level 10 with gold medal talents at 11, 16 (new), 21 and 31 points. Respec at a class trainer in a major city; Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.
Balance
- Insect Swarm moves into Balance as the 16-point gold medal.
- Nature’s Splendor (new 11-point gold medal): longer Moonfire, Rejuvenation, Regrowth and Insect Swarm.
- Eclipse (new): Wrath shortens your next 2 Starfire casts. Overgrowth (new): Entangling Roots on up to 3 targets. Genesis and Nature’s Majesty (new) boost periodic effects and crit.
- Moonkin Form lets you cast every non-healing spell, doubles Omen of Clarity procs, and its party crit bonus now covers attacks too, though it no longer stacks with Leader of the Pack.
- Nature’s Grace now grants spell haste and a shorter global cooldown for 3 seconds.
Feral Combat
- Two 16-point gold medals: Shifting Power for cats (instant 40 Energy at a large mana cost, replacing power-shifting) and Primal Bite for bears (a 20-Rage, high-threat attack used instead of Mangle).
- Berserk (new 31-point gold medal): 15 seconds on a 3-minute cooldown; clears and blocks Fear, removes Primal Bite’s cooldown and makes it hit up to 3 targets, and greatly raises crit chance on Cat combo abilities.
- Feral Charge also gets a Cat Form version.
- Thick Hide now converts Defense skill from gear into armor in forms, so bear tanks benefit from Defense items like other tanks.
- Leader of the Pack’s crit bonus now applies to spells and attacks.
- Natural Reaction, Predatory Strikes and Rend and Tear (new) support bears and bleeds. Blizzard noted Shifting Power and some Feral row changes were coming in a later beta build.
Restoration
- Wild Growth (new 31-point gold medal): a party-wide heal over time that starts strong and fades over 7 seconds, on a 6-second cooldown.
- Swiftmend moves up to the 16-point gold medal and no longer consumes your Rejuvenation or Regrowth.
- Gift of the Earthmother (new 11-point gold medal) shortens the global cooldown on Rejuvenation, Swiftmend and Wild Growth.
- Furor is redesigned to stop “bear-weaving”; power-shifting returns through Shifting Power instead.
- Improved Tranquility also reduces its cooldown. Reflection greatly increases mana regeneration while casting.
Strengths and weaknesses, according to Blizzard
Druids can perform any role with the right gear and talents, but that versatility costs utility. They cannot snare, silence or interrupt, their crowd control is weaker and less reliable, and as healers they lean on heals over time that need planning. Blizzard’s summary is that Druids can do any job but rely on other classes to complete a raid’s toolkit.
What is not confirmed yet
- Late beta changes Blizzard described as “coming next build” may still shift before launch.
- Exact per-level damage and healing numbers in some talent tooltips; these scale with your character, so our Druid talent calculator shows them as formulas or dashes.
- Skyborne SD models and forms, planned for early 2027 with no exact date.
