Gathering professions supply the materials every crafter needs. In WoW: Forever, Mining, Herbalism and Skinning count as primary professions (you can learn two primaries in total) and Fishing is a secondary profession you can always learn. All four also get three camp objects each, Mining keeps its smelting recipes, and the Legacy system has perks that make gathering more rewarding. Facts here come from Blizzard's posts and the WoW: Forever game client (build 1.60.1.70532, October 21, 2026).

Camp objects at skill 140 and 300 come from Blueprint drops in dungeons and raids, according to Blizzard. What those higher objects do is not published yet. The client names the fishing one “Fish Bowl”, where Blizzard's article says “Fishing Bowl”. How camp features work is on the camping guide.

Mining and smelting

Mining has 14 smelting recipes in the client, 2 of them new: Smelt Azerothium (yellow at 275, needs Forge), Smelt Heavy Thorium (yellow at 300, needs Molten Foundry). Smelt Azerothium uses Pitchblende and Smelt Heavy Thorium uses Heavy Thorium Ore, both new items in the Forever client. Every other smelting recipe needs a Forge (Dark Iron needs the Black Forge); the Molten Foundry is Mining's own skill-300 camp object. The table shows each one's skill-up colours and exact ores.

Herbalism

Herbalism has no crafting recipes in the client apart from its three camp objects: Incense Candle (20), Greenhouse (140) and Seed Hybridizer (300). Herbs feed Alchemy, and in Forever the First Aid healing potions use herbs too, from Peacebloom for Minor to Golden Sansam for Major.

Skinning

Skinning likewise has only its camp objects: Camp Chair (20), Field Guide (140) and Trapper's Workbench (300). Leather and hides go to Leatherworking, whose advanced recipes in Forever also need a Tanning Rack or Sewing Machine at camp.

Fishing

Fishing's camp objects are the Fish Bowl (20), Fishing Rack (140) and Fishing Hut (300). Fish go to Cooking, where many Forever recipes give Well Fed food with a bonus to kill experience.

Legacy perks for gatherers
