World of Warcraft: Forever runs on Windows and Mac. Can I play WoW Forever with a controller?
Blizzard announced official gamepad support for players who prefer a controller, as one of Forever’s player-choice options. Its system requirements article, however, still lists keyboard and mouse as required input. Until Blizzard publishes details of the gamepad support, we cannot say whether you can play entirely without a keyboard and mouse.
Can I play on Steam Deck, Linux or console?
Blizzard’s requirements cover Windows and Mac only. There is no announced console version (Xbox, PlayStation) of WoW: Forever, and Steam Deck and Linux are not on Blizzard’s supported list. Anything else you read about those is unofficial.
Will my old PC or laptop run it?
Compare your machine with the minimum column. Two requirements are easy to miss: storage must be an SSD (a hard drive does not meet the spec), and the graphics card needs 4 GB of video memory. Forever also has Classic-style options that may help: Blizzard offers modern and Classic visual presets and a choice between high-definition and standard-definition character models.
When can I install the game?
Not before launch. Blizzard Support says the live game will not be available until November 4, 2026, and players cannot install it before then, even if they bought the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection. See the launch time in your time zone.
Install size
Blizzard asks for 128 GB of available SSD space. It has not published the size of the download itself.
What is not confirmed yet
- The actual download size at launch.
- Whether the system requirements change before or after launch. Blizzard warns they may.
